The IMBA program welcomes a new faculty member, Dr. Hsing-Hua Stella Chang, to the IMBA family. Stella earned her doctorate from National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan. She will begin serving and teaching for the IMBA and EMBA courses from August, 2021.

Stella’s scholarship focuses on internationalization and international branding. In her doctoral dissertation, she examined how branding plays a role in the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises from emerging economies. Stella has also worked on several interesting research projects, most of which centered around international brand strategies for Taiwan businesses. Currently, Stella is engaged in several research projects relating to Social Enterprise, in which she adopts institutional theory to emphasize the importance of non-economic activities in business management, especially in international contexts.

Prior to her academic pursuits in Taiwan, Stella lived abroad for about nine years, six of which were spent working with Emirates Airlines. During this time, she visited sixty countries and more than two hundred cities. In her own words, this really broadened her horizons, and ignited her passion to discover mechanisms behind successful business operation of multi-national and multi-cultural corporations.

Stella’s primary teaching interest at National Taichung University of Education is International (Business) Management. Her prior part-time teaching experience includes design and instruction of classes in international marketing, international (business) management, and business communication for undergraduate students at several universities in Taiwan.

Dr. Chang’s office is located at R728, YingChia building.
